Code of Conduct
The Hebrew Times is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical journalism and professional integrity. As a news media organization, we recognize our responsibility to provide accurate, fair, and unbiased reporting while maintaining respect for the law and the rights of all individuals. In accordance with U.S. law and journalistic best practices, this Code of Conduct outlines our commitment to editorial independence, journalistic transparency, and legal compliance.

The Hebrew Times is dedicated to delivering news that is factual, verified, and sourced from credible outlets. We adhere to the principles of truth and accuracy, and our journalists are required to thoroughly fact-check all content before publication. In the event that an error occurs, we will take immediate corrective action, including issuing retractions or clarifications as necessary. We will not engage in or publish any material that could be classified as defamatory, libelous, or harmful to an individual's reputation without substantiated facts, as per U.S. defamation laws.

Editorial independence is central to our mission. We will not allow any external forces—whether governmental, corporate, or political—to influence the content we publish. Our reporters and editors are free from undue influence or coercion, ensuring that the news we produce is in the public interest. We acknowledge that freedom of the press is protected under the First Amendment, and we will exercise that freedom responsibly, while also respecting the rights and privacy of others.

The Hebrew Times is committed to protecting the privacy of our sources and readers. We will not disclose the identity of confidential sources unless legally compelled to do so by a court order. We are fully compliant with the legal standards governing the use of confidential information and the rights of whistleblowers. In cases where legal requests for information arise, we will consult with legal counsel to ensure that all actions are in compliance with U.S. law, including the Stored Communications Act and other relevant federal regulations.

We respect intellectual property rights and will not engage in any form of copyright infringement. All content, including text, images, videos, and graphics, will either be original, properly licensed, or fall under the doctrine of fair use. We will also diligently respect the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and respond to any claims of infringement in a timely and lawful manner.

Furthermore, The Hebrew Times is dedicated to upholding diversity and inclusion in its content and operations. We will strive to provide coverage that is reflective of the diverse perspectives within the Jewish community, Israel, and global affairs, and we will avoid the propagation of hate speech or discriminatory rhetoric. In line with U.S. hate speech laws, we will ensure that our platform is not used to promote violence, discrimination, or unlawful conduct of any kind.

Our journalists and employees are also expected to avoid conflicts of interest in their reporting. Any potential conflict must be disclosed to management, and appropriate steps will be taken to ensure the integrity of the content we produce. Journalists must refrain from accepting gifts, payments, or other forms of compensation from sources that could compromise their objectivity.

Lastly, The Hebrew Times is committed to providing a platform for diverse opinions and debates, ensuring that all views are presented in a respectful and balanced manner. We encourage civil discourse while upholding U.S. laws on speech, including the protection of opinion under the First Amendment, as long as it does not cross into defamation, incitement, or other illegal conduct.

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, The Hebrew Times will continue to be a trusted source of news and information, ensuring that our work aligns with both the ethical principles of journalism and the legal frameworks that govern media in the United States.
